Work Readiness

Students participate in one semester of intensive work preparation before commencing their workplace learning program. They learn a range of work preparation, employability and communication skills through explicit teaching, role-play and real life scenarios. It includes models from the Certificate I Work Readiness program and the Preliminary WACE course in either Plant Productions Systems (horticulture) or Animal Production Systems (aquaculture).The program aims to provide a smooth transition into work experience at the completion of the program.

A range of intensive modules assist students to become work ready. These include basic first aid, occupation health and safety, developing a career plan, resumé writing, job applications, interview skills and presenting a positive image in the workplace.  The program helps students to decide what career they would like to pursue and includes visit to local businesses in Esperance to facilitate this process
